How Can You Help?

One. Accept personal responsibility for our animals.  We created this problem by not spaying and neutering our pets...So do it...today!

Two.  Give animal control a break.  Their job is to manage the animal population.  They make difficult decisions that not many of us would line up to make.   It has always been their goal to eliminate the need to kill healthy, adoptable animals... but this won't happen overnight.  People must stop treating animals as if they are disposable and take personal responsibility for this mess.

Three.  Put your money where your mouth is.  If you've ever complained about the sorry state of animal welfare in this area, make a financial donation.  Or buy an extra bag of dog or cat food every month and take it to the shelter.  Throw in a few cat toys. Better yet, head down to the Pet Center or animal control and play with the kittens.  Take a dog for a walk.  Or roll up your sleeves and help clean the kennels and litter boxes.

Four.  Adopt your next pet from a shelter or rescue organization.
